The Challenge:
A major hospital explores upgrades that increase energy efficiency and lower energy use. Their goal is to work more efficiently as a healthcare provider. Furthermore, they seek incentives to help them conduct such a massive undertaking.
The Method:
Electrification Corporation worked with the public utility company to provide the hospital a $30,000 rebate to exchange incandescent lights for high-efficiency LED lightbulbs. Nearly 600 new lights will be installed. While this project will take up to a year, its completion will mean significant energy savings.
The Result:
The new energy-efficient LED bulbs save the hospital over $10,000 annually on energy costs. These bulbs are also far safer than the original ones; they do not contain mercury, a dangerous chemical. Furthermore, the new bulbs provide better lighting that is more comfortable for employees.
