The Challenge:
A public utility company established over a century ago provides natural gas, electricity, water, and wastewater collection to a city. This successful company generates about 500,000 bills for its utility services annually. However, the company’s latest mission is to become more sustainable. Their goal was to implement programs to give customers financial incentives toward the purchase and installation of energy-efficient cold climate heat pumps, geothermal systems, and heat pump water heaters. They hired Electrification Corporation to assist in their mission.
The Method:
- Electrification Corporation defined all program details while preparing a marketing roadmap. Then, we developed marketing materials and campaigns. Furthermore, we led important informational sessions with contractors and customers and designed program application forms. After this, we handled all customer inquiries and prepared an automated system to record customers’ old fuel usage data.
- As the program continued, we performed detailed analyses of participation metrics, customer savings after heat pump conversions, and increased revenue to the utility from a move toward electrification.
- Electrification Corporation continues to implement automation measures to streamline the processes of customer onboarding, issue resolution, and data collection for the program.
The Result:
Our team has generated millions of dollars in energy savings for this utility company’s clients. We have helped this company reach its sustainability goals and further work on projects for the company ranging from low-cost energy upgrades to sophisticated installations.
